Old Barn

I remember when this roof was freshly painted. It's an ad for Hot Springs Spa.

And, what became of Hot Springs Spa? It hasn't met with the same fate as the barn roof, I hope.

What a treat your eye for beauty in all things, and then even more creative beauty in all things! Thank you

Oh, I love those old ads painted on barns and buildings! Is Hot Springs Spa still in business? I'm guessin' not...

What's not to like about a rusty old barn! Love it!

It has a very familiar and homey look.

Are these artsy changes done in Picasa? If you hadn't mentioned "Hot Springs" I wouldn't have noticed the letters!

Hot Springs Spa is going strong (I wrote about it in UNDER THE SKIN.) The sign was new maybe twenty years ago. There aren't many barn roof ads in my area and not any SEE ROCK CITY ones,Ms. A. (Though we once had a little red birdhouse with that pained on its roof...

One of the many things I love about living in Madison county is the beautiful old barns. They tell such stories! There is one on Walnut Creek Road that I stopped and took many pictures of. I am planning to make it my art project for the summer. I hope to catch the farmer one day to get its history.

Like Ms A, I always think "See Rock City" when I think of old barn roofs. It was one of those road games we played as children while traveling in the mountains.

I hope the spa fared better than the painted barn roof!

There's something so special about old barns and with all the blog hops of barn pictures, it seems people really love them. I certainly do. Nice pictures here.
